Trams in Amsterdam |
How much is the tram in Amsterdam?
The trams in Amsterdam cover pretty much the whole city
and are a useful way to get across town in a hurry. Most
lines start and finish at the "Centraal Station",
the Main Railway Station in Amsterdam. A ticket costs 1,60
Euro which allows you to go anywhere you want and reuse
as often as you want for no longer than 1 hour. But there
are cheaper ways of course if you plan to go more often
by tram. One of which would be to buy strips with 15 journeys
for 6,90 Euro. In Dutch there are called "strippenkart".
For a single trip in the city of Amsterdam
you would need to stamp two strips and than for longer distances far out the city centre you need to use more.
As usual you can buy one of those "strippenkaart" at the Central Station or any corner news shop.
Most tramlines run from early in the morning around 6 am to midnight, with a few lines running once an hour all night. If you
plan to use trams a lot than there are a couple of options for days passes you may want to consider:
A day pass for a single day costs 6,30 Euro per day, for two days its 10 Euro and 13 Euro for 3 days.
There are also 1,2 and 3 days passes that include discounts when you plan to visit Museums in Amsterdam.
Trams 2 and 5 will take you to Museumplein (Rijsmuseum & Van Gogh Museum).
Trams 1,2, and 5 will take you to Leidesplein.
Just in case you haven't heard of the Leidesplein yet,
its the square with the biggest concentration of pubs, clubs and night cafees in Amsterdam.
