City Guide - Amsterdam City Breaks

Where to stay?

Cheap hotels in Amsterdam are not easy to find? Click here for a range of cheap hotels from 30,- Euro: Since 1588 The Hague is the capital where the government is seated. Although only once during its history was Amsterdam both capital and seat of government, it is certainly the more important city in the eyes of over 2 million tourists comming visiting Amsterdam every year.

Besides, Amsterdam is limited in space, and you can imagine that a single room has its price. In addition to the fame of this old sailers city, different to almost all other tourist cities in the world, Amsterdam has not really seasons as such. So its hard to say, well I have not got so much money to spent, let's book my trip during low season to save some money. It won't really work that way with Amsterdam.

Amsterdam isn't that big of a city. So its actually quite easy to get around by bike or on foot. Even the furtherst attractions like some of the museums, Van Gough and Reichsmuseum, can still be reached on foot from the central train station and most hostels and cheap hotels downtown.

Apart from showing you a number of cheap hotels that we have choosen to list on our website, we will also provide you with the most important information and travel tips about how to get around the city, restaurants, the famous Coffee Shops in Amsterdam as well as Cafés & Bars.

Hotels Amsterdam are to very different in price depending on their location and of course star rating also makes a big difference. So 5 star hotels such as the famous Hotel Seven One Seven, Hotel De l'Europe are located very centrally and cost much more than the popular Hilton Amsterdam, also 5 star however slighty outside from the Red Light District, about 10 min with the taxi. The tram in Amsterdam is also very useful, so if you don't mind waiting a bit on the tram stop until the right tram comes along, passing by your hotel entrance door than thats only 2 Euro one way. The Marriott lies just opposite a major tram stop, naturally right next to the Museum Plein there are a lot of public transport conections. In case you are still looking for really cheap hotels in Amsterdam, such as little bed and breakfast, comfortable but cheap, or hostels even than anything near the Red Light Distict or Dam Square will be costly and even more important fully booked if you dont make your hotel reservation in advance. Well, we are talking summer time seaons of course. And even in the deepest depth of folk winter seaons I came across weekends where the Bulldog hotel and other luxury budget hotels were fully booked. There are so many events, even in the Winter going on that you never know about accommodation space. So its better to make sure before hand. Check the availability or give them a call.
